Lawrence H. Cunningham has been appointed to serve as Clerk of Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, effective December 2, 2024. Mr. Cunningham, a graduate of the Georgetown Law, most recently served as Dean of the Charleston School of Law, a position he held since 2020.  Earlier experience includes teaching and administrative leadership at St. John’s University School of Law, work as a state court prosecutor, and a clerkship with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.  He succeeds John Brubaker, who has retired after 21 years of exemplary public service.
