The Middle District of North Carolina will continue operations in the usual course notwithstanding any shutdown of the federal government caused by the failure to enact an annual appropriation act or a continuing resolution. This applies to all aspects of court operations, including docketing new cases, receipt of documents for filing, resolving motions, hearing cases, and conducting trials. Matters currently calendared in October will proceed as scheduled. Parties remain obligated to comply with the filing requirements of the Federal Rules of Procedure and this Court’s Local Rules.
