Effective August 1, 2020, the Court will begin using a Bench and Bar Fund for purposes that benefit the members of the bench and the bar in the administration of justice. To support this Fund, attorneys specially appearing pursuant to Local Civil Rule 83.1(d) will be required to pay $25.00 via Pay.Gov when filing a notice of special appearance.

Starting August 1, 2020, attorneys specially appearing should use a new CM/ECF event titled “Notice of Special Appearance.” Attorneys admitted to practice in the Middle District of North Carolina and federal government attorneys should continue to use the CM/ECF “Notice of Appearance” event in civil cases and “Notice of Attorney Appearance” events in criminal cases.
